The first half of the season, or since October when I started this site anyway, has been terrible betting wise but hopefully 2016 will start with a win, here goes anyway.
Leicester v Bournemouth
The Cherries have looked pretty good lately but I expect Leicester to get back to winning ways when they visit the King Power on Saturday. The Foxes are winless in two but that’s no disgrace after travelling to Liverpool and hosting Manchester City.
Leicester, somewhat incredibly, are even money with a few bookmakers, with most pricing them at around 10/11, and I’ll be backing them at that price.
I also think Man City will win at Watford but at 8/11 I’m not keen, their away form reads DLLLD so the value just isn’t there. The Hornets are no mugs and given the form of their forwards they’re capable of getting a result against anyone.
Leeds v MK Dons
In the Championship Leeds United have picked up in recent weeks, especially at home, and they should be too strong for the MK Dons on Saturday. The hosts did lose to Rotherham a few weeks back but they do tend to come unstuck against Yorkshire rivals from time to time and the only other team to have left Elland Road with anything in the last two months or so are Derby County. The Dons have just one point and two goals to show from their last five away matches and as such Leeds, again at a best price of evens, are worth backing in this one.
Preston v Rotherham
Preston have managed 10 points from the last 15 available at Deepdale as they’ve surged towards mid-table, while visitors Rotherham are seeking to end a run of three successive defeats on the road. The Millers have lost nine of their 12 away fixtures to date this term and I expect North End at 10/11 to take them into double figures this weekend.
